Hogmanay in Oban - Lagnakeil
It’s always one after the
other around this time of year, and even though we’re currently inching our way
towards Christmas, before you know it, you’ll blink and it will be over. Of
course, it doesn’t all end there, because we still have Hogmanay to look
forward to! No one quite knows how to celebrate New Year like the Scots, and
Oban is no exception.
This
year, the official Hogmanay in Oban event
kicks off at 8pm with the winner of the Opportunity Knocks competition taking the
stage, followed by a host of fantastic musicians. Throughout the night, there
will be a lot of singing, dancing and of course, fireworks to bring in the New
Year. It’s also free: So a great event for all the family.
For us,
we always head to the Barn Bar at
Hogmanay. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the Lagnakeil Lodges, this restored
barn with original slate cattle stalls boasts live music, real ales and great
home cooking. Not to mention, the atmosphere is electric! It’s no surprise that
the Barn Bar has been featured in the likes of “Scotland’s Best Kept Secrets”,
“Scotland the Best” and the Herald Newspaper’s “Good Pub Grub” guide, to name a
few. Cosy up next to the log fire, choose from their extensive range of whisky,
listen to some great music and soak up the atmosphere. What’s better? Only a
short walk away, you don’t have to worry about having an extra dram for the
road.
Choose from
one of our lodges for the perfect way to bring in the bells – whether it’s a
big group, a small family gathering or even a romantic getaway, we have a range
of different sizes to suit you.
Don't miss out by booking your accommodation with us now.
