Why should you visit Oban this winter?

Summer is a great time for a holiday, and for most of us – that’s when we head to the airport and fly somewhere exotic. However, when it comes to Winter breaks, it’s always good to stay somewhere close to home. Scotland is a great place for Winter breaks (our Winter weather is probably more true to season than summer, to be honest!) and you’ll really feel cosy in front of a big fire in one of our lodges. We truly believe Oban is a stunning place for you to relax at this time of year and here are a few reasons why…

A small harbour town surrounded by nature, it’s the perfect mix for a relaxing break in quiet surroundings with a great social scene. Escape from the hustle and bustle of home and enjoy the local hospitality.

With trains and buses from major cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh, it’s so easy to get here. There are also frequent ferries running to the likes of Mull and Iona. Oban is nicknamed as the “Gateway to the Isles” for a reason, you know.

Here in Oban, we’re known for our local cuisine. Striving to use local produce as much as possible, there are loads of great restaurants with seasonal menus. From seafood, to desserts and home-brewed whisky, you’ll find something hearty to keep you warm! Also known as the "Seafood Capital of Scotland" - we hope you can sample this for yourself!

Oban is beautiful as it is, but on a clear day when front glistens over the hills, there is nothing quite as breath taking. Admire from the comfort of one of our lodges or go for a nice walk, breathe in that fresh air and enjoy.

Convinced? If you like the idea of coming to Oban, we'd love to welcome you this winter. Don't forget about our fantastic 3 for the price of 2 offer
