Clans, Castles, Churches, Chapels

Enjoy a historical guide to Oban, Lorn & the Isles by visiting Dunollie, the seat of the Clan MacDougall & home of The Hope MacDougall Collection. The 1745 House, a former servants' quarters, will open its doors on 18th November, and will be Oban's new museum and cultural centre.

It will have exhibitions and a range of activities for all ages, and is the first step in long term plan to open the heritage and collections at Dunollie to the public. This includes the renowned Hope MacDougall Collection, a fascinating social history collection drawn from throughout the Highlands and Islands.

The opening of the 1745 House at Dunollie will also mark the start of the fortnight programme of activities for the Oban Winter Festival which runs from 19th to 27th November.
The programme will include carriage rides, an exhibition, storytelling and others, all in the newly opened 1745 House!
